What the first requirement means
Retail administration means protecting the record behind a transaction, not only serving the customer. In your CV, identify genuine experience with refunds, invoices, till variances, cash documents, delivery checks or claims and explain how you confirmed accuracy before closing the task.
What makes this role different
This assistant works where the shop floor, customer desk, receiving process and cash records meet. The vacancy is broader than ordinary sales assistance because the person must trace discrepancies, review invoices, support Distribution Centre claims and keep floats, petty cash and cash-on-hand documents controlled.
How to apply
- Tailor your CV to the Artem role with Matric, retail history, Word, Excel, Outlook and SAP exposure, plus examples of transaction or stock administration.
- Open Dis-Chem’s official listing and verify reference 195980, Sea Point and the stated 12 August 2026 deadline.
- Complete the employer form with accurate screening, transport and work-history information and submit only the requested files.
- Save the branch reference and confirmation; do not send credit, identity or payment information to anyone outside the verified Dis-Chem application process.
Decide before you apply
This Sea Point role may fit someone who has worked in retail operations, remains composed with customer complaints, can reconcile figures and documents, uses common office systems and is comfortable moving between service, receiving and back-office checks.
It is a weak match if your experience is limited to informal selling with no retail administration, computer or transaction-control exposure. Review the citizenship, screening and transport wording on the official advert before deciding whether every listed condition is workable.
Make your CV specific
Choose two application examples: one customer issue you resolved or escalated correctly, and one transaction or delivery record you checked. State the mismatch, the control you used, who approved the outcome and how the final record was kept accurate.
Useful proof can include point-of-sale balancing, refunds, stock queries, delivery invoices, petty-cash records or Distribution Centre claims. Keep business amounts and customer information private while still describing the steps and responsibility that demonstrate accuracy.
